Villa San Giovanni is surrounded by a 54-hectare organic vineyard and nature preserve that produces our flagship wine, La Caccia di San Giovanni. Its adjacent to the Belmond Castello di Casole Hotel Property. The hotel is a world-renowned and awarded resort.

A Brief History

In 2005 Dean Macfarlan had the opportunity to be involved in the restoration and renovation of the Castello di Casole a castle originally built in the 900s that served as a place for exiles from surrounding city-states. Surrounding this castle was 1700 hectares (4200 acres) of land that throughout the centuries has served mostly as farmland and hunting grounds. In the 1800s this was divided up into 31 farms - which brings us to the estate today, which was one of those 31 farms. A 54-hectare (133 acres) estate with 8 hectares (20 acres) dedicated to organic vineyards and olive groves. Out of the 1700 hectares surrounding Castello di Casole, this is the parcel that stood out the most. A combination of the unique soil composition, terroir and the surrounding views drew us to it.

The Villa was originally built in the XIX Century and served as a home for the owner of the parcel. In 2016 the Villa went under a historic renovation, preserving the authentic and historic elements while turning it into a cozy, Tuscan getaway.
